It’s that time of year again when the Forest Row Energy Team gears up to hosting our annual Community Energy Evening and AGM.
We have got some fantastic speakers lined up this year and also have exiting news to share with you about our projects and the launch of the Pay-As-You-Save Solar Initiative in partnership with Brighton and Hove Energy Services Co-op.
Here’s what we have in store for you…
Ollie Pendered, Chair of Community Energy South will come with the ‘State of the Sector Report’ hot off the press and talk about where we are as a sector and where we are heading. He will also talk about the Riding Sunbeams Project, a regional renewable energy for rail project that offers some really exciting opportunities for our sector and renewable energy.
Richard Watson OBE, Director of East Coast Sussex (ECS) will inspire us with projects that he is spearheading in the Hastings area including the 1066 Energy Campaign - a campaign to install 1066 solar roofs. ECS and Forest Row Energy have worked in partnership to launch support for solar programmes.
Esmé Donghi-Wild, Director of Forest Row Energy will look at our project successes and introduce you to Pay-As-You-Save Solar - a community, not-for-profit initiative that could allow you to install solar for your home or business at no upfront cost to you. Find out more here.
Steve Briault, Director of Development at Emerson College will also join us to share about the College’s sustainability vision and how we are working together to create renewable energy at the College.
And last but no means least Jonathan Shopley, Forest Row Energy Chair will guide us through the AGM’s formal proceedings.
The AGM is an important event in our calendar and is a requirement of the Co-op Rules…. in short we need at least one third of members to come and be part of it. We will keep the formalities short and focus on an evening to enthuse and inspire us.
Free homemade cakes and drinks for all!
Where and when?
We hope to see you to learn, share, inspire (and eat cake) with us on the 30th November at 7:30pm, at the Baptist Church Hall on the corner of Chapel Lane and Hartfield Road, Forest Row, RH18 5BF
Non-members welcome.
If you are planning to come, please help us plan for numbers by emailing forestrowenergy@gmail.com and putting ‘Joining you on the 30th November’ in the subject area.
With Very Best Wishes, The Forest Row Energy Team
